Magnet ’s range of Klingspor abrasive products, designed for finishing surfaces and cutting off materials, now encompasses newly launched Kronenflex ® A960 TZ Special cutting-off wheels.
These high-speed cutting-off wheels ensure optimum cutting performance in specific tasks in diverse applications, including maintenance and repairs, metal-working and plant and steel construction.
‘Kronenflex A960 TZ Special cutting-off wheels, with an optimised binding system, offer short cutting times and extended service life,’ says Shaun Bradbury, Magnet’s Klingspor product specialist. ‘These new cutting-off wheels, which are free of iron, sulphur and chlorine, have a low thermal load and low burr formation.
‘Klingspor, specialists in abrasive technology, has developed these new cutting-off wheels using high-grade raw materials, where the bond is perfectly matched to the synthetically produced grit type used. This ensures a greater level of aggressiveness and longer service life.’
This new range is available in two sizes – 115 mm diameter x 1,0 mm width x 22, 23 mm bore and 125 mm diameter x 1,0 mm width x 22, 23 mm bore – at a maximum operating speed of 80 m/s.
Kronenflex cutting-off wheels and grinding discs are available in three quality classes to suit all types of applications. A960 TZ cutting-off wheels form part of the Special quality class, where high-performance products are suitable for specialist applications in industry and trade.
Products in the Extra quality class have an ideal price/performance ratio for universal applications and Supra class products, with a long life and high cutting rate, are designed for professional applications.
Because the shelf life of cutting-off wheels and grinding discs is primarily determined by moisture content, proper packaging and storage is essential to ensure a consistently long product life. If these products are subjected to water, steam or increased humidity after manufacture, safety is compromised and service life is significantly shortened. For this reason, Kronenflex cutting-off wheels are carefully packaged in a box designed especially for moisture protection.
Klingspor has compiled working guidelines to ensure optimum safety during operation of abrasive tools. These tips include operating each product correctly, being careful and recognising risks, the need for personal protective gear, the importance of having protective machine covers and the necessity for visual inspection and performance checks prior to operation. To assist the user, these cutting off wheels and grinding discs are marked with the corresponding safety pictogram.
Magnet provides a technical and advisory support service to ensure the selection of the correct product for each specific application. The company also offers the services of an abrasive specialist to go on-site, to trial these abrasives and offer solutions for improved production efficiency, optimum safety and extended service life of every component.
