Stanley Black & Decker now offer the ‘next generation’ in retail display formats by uplifting the face of tool displays in independent retailers with their shop-in-shop displays.

The shop-in-shop displays range from anywhere between three and 64m2 offering class and style to hardware shop floors. There are currently a number of displays in South Africa which host comprehensive ranges of both DeWalt and Stanley products. This concept also provides a great way for professionals to get a sense of the 360 degree Stanley Black & Decker offering.

DeWalt offers top of the range tools for professional use on construction sites and the like. Stanley provides quality hand tools which are indispensable on any worksite, as well as power tools for the tradesman and automotive tools. Some of the more recent displays can be found in Johannesburg at Alrode Industrial Supplies near Alberton, at Tooltech in Turffontein and in Port Elizabeth at a dedicated DeWalt shop.

Alrode Industrial Supplies hosts the latest flagship shop-in-shop display and the striking black and yellow branding draws customers in when they enter the shop. The space has been used optimally and attention has been given to every detail in the display. There is a LCD screen with music creating the correct ambiance and videos demonstrating the tools and third party reviews. There is a dedicated convenient plug point in the display so that customers can try out the demo-models which have tool specifications next to them for user convenience. There are also pamphlets and brochures for potential customers on the display stand.

“We want to create the best possible experience for customers in stores and get them excited about Stanley Black & Decker brands though this bespoke point of sale offering. Along with our wholesale and distribution partners (where applicable) the shop-in-shop displays can be tailor-made for each retailer providing the correct selection of tools for their customer base and to fit their space provisions on the shop floor,” says Mayan Desai, Trade Marketing Manager for Southern Africa at Stanley Black & Decker.

The shop-in-shop display solutions are available to all interested retailers. Stanley Black & Decker brands that can be included in the custom fit displays are Stanley, DeWalt and Black & Decker. Stanley Black & Decker sales representatives will come in and re-stock and check the merchandising frequently to ensure the display is optimally displayed. Participating retailers will be given priority treatment with regards to benefits such as product roll out, training for their sales staff and many more new services that are in the pipeline.

“Our aim with these shop-in-shop displays is to increase spend in the tool category as well as uplift the industry as a whole. These innovative displays encourage buying across product categories and are a draw card, creating a positive in-store experience for customers,” says Desai.
