Africa’s Organic & Natural Products Expo set to make its mark

The inaugural Organic & Natural Products Expo will take place 21 – 23 October at The Deck @ Wanderers, Corlett Drive, Illovo in sunny Johannesburg, South Africa. The event was scheduled to take place in May 2020 until Covid-19 stopped all events globally. Since then the organisers, SA Trade Promotions, have built up an admirable head of steam among government, industry associations, export councils, trade and investment organisations and thousands of consumers hungry for products that are healthy and sustainable. The interested parties come from all corners of the African continent, and some from even further afield in Europe and the USA, setting the scene for what will be a truly global event with a uniquely African feel.

“We’ve had to engage with industry and get support from all corners in order to make the event accessible to as many companies as possible, both big and small,” says John Thomson, managing director of SA Trade Promotions and a 40 year expo veteran.  “We’ve had such fantastic interest from both the trade and consumer sides of the fence, which is important in this sector. The trade creates the push and the consumer creates the pull. However, much consumer level education is still required, which we are addressing through a presentation theatre program and industry conferences, said Thomson.

With sales firmly underway after the launch of the event’s radio and digital campaigns, companies interested in exhibiting need to act swiftly to secure expo space. Interested companies can contact show organiser John Thomson on [email protected]. While consumer visitors will pay a small admission fee, bone fide trade visitors are invited to apply for complimentary trade tickets via the link https://www.organicandnaturalportal.com/expo/trade-visitors/#trade. With 10 000 to 15 000 visitors expected over the three days, you’d best get your application in now to avoid disappointment.
