On 20 November, BlackBrick Hotels introduced BlackBrick Gardens in the heart of Cape Town. This innovative ‘aparthotel’ reshapes urban living by blending hospitality, community engagement and sustainable design.
Situated on Roodehek Street in Gardens, the team repurposed a mid-century factory into a modern hub for guests and locals. The property includes 93 thoughtfully designed apartments, each featuring private balconies, kitchenettes and lounges. Notably, the hotel is defined by architectural ingenuity, with a design ethos focused on functionality, flexibility and community interaction. A collaboration between BlackBrick CEO Jonathan Liebmann, and architect Andrew Makin, the hotel utilises a naturally illuminated atrium to integrate privacy with communal interaction.
Incorporating sustainability and utility, every aspect of BlackBrick Gardens is curated for modern living and collaboration. Public areas boast restaurants, coffee bars, co-working spaces and fully equipped meeting rooms. The rooftop terraces, including a pool deck, offer not only impressive views but also social and professional networking opportunities.
