Vermont Sales exhibition BUILDCON has shifted from being a product and brand specific exhibition to becoming a broader industry focused platform with all products used in construction – from foundation to roof – on display.
Situated in the Vermont Sale exhibition space in Randjespark, Midrand, the exhibition will open on 13 February and retailers are encouraged to visit from then until it closes at the end of April 2023. This longer-than-normal period is designed to allow retailers to plan a visit, spend time with the Vermont team and get to understand the extensive range of products on display. This year, in addition to showcasing tools essential for construction, BUILDCON will also include products that fit into the heavy mining and construction sector.

MEET THE TEAM
One of the focus areas will be Rawlplug, famous for its anchors, fasteners and fixings, for both the domestic and heavy industry markets, with its range of construction specific power tools. The team from the Rawlplug head office in Poland will be visiting the exhibition and will be on hand to chat to retailers during their visit. The Vermont team has also appointed their own team of Rawlplug specialists so retailers can rest assured they are getting the best possible advice.
BRANDS ON DISPLAY:
Rawlplug, Festool, Alpen, TorkCraft, Pony, Fixman, AccuD, Real Steel, D-Tech, Sawstop, MPS, Bernzomatic, Olfa, Aircraft and Kreg. As with all previous Vermont Sales exhibitions, BUILDCON will include a ‘playroom’ where hands-on demos will be conducted, and retailers will have the opportunity to play with and use the tools on show. This has proved extremely successful over the years as retailers can experience first-hand how the tools perform the functions for which they are designed.
STAY AND PLAY
According to Mindi Hunt, the brains behind the Vermont Exhibition Centre, the exhibitions give retailers the opportunity to see and test the extensive range of products available from the company, many of which they were unaware of before.
“Customers leave realising that we are much more than what they had perceived,” she says. “BUILDCON, for example, gives us the opportunity to educate our customers on the broad range of Industrial products we carry in addition to our retail specific product ranges. Retailers who attend our shows are exposed to many products they were not aware we carried and as a result have grown their own markets significantly.”
The exhibition centre includes permanent displays of some of the key Vermont brands in addition to the themed exhibition products. These displays are carefully merchandised to gain maximum traction and exact replicas are available for retailers to put in their stores.
The team at Vermont Sales are constantly working on new ways to display tools and welcome suggestions from their customers. Innovation, range expansion, new product lines and excellent service remain key to the success of the company.
