Households’ real net wealth increases despite COVID-19

South African households’ real net wealth increased by an estimated R1 009.1 billion (R1.009 trillion) from the onset of the second quarter of 2020 (Q2 2020) to the end of the year (Q4 2020), according to the latest Momentum-Unisa Household Net Wealth report.

Consumer financial vulnerability levels improve

Day 1 of first phase of COVID-19 vaccine rollout 'a success'

Day One of the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccine rollout to health workers yesterday was a huge success, the Department of Health says. "South Africa secured the single dose Johnson & Johnson (JnJ) vaccine for use in the Sisonke (‘Together’) programme. Sisonke will be rolled out to up to 500,000 healthcare workers starting in 18 public sector hospitals across all nine provinces."
