Colour trends in the kitchen 2021

Colour in kitchens is the hottest design trend for 2021. Adding colour in the kitchen is a great way to freshen things up and it can also be a real mood booster.

So it’s little wonder that coloured granite sinks are soaring in popularity as more of us look to lift our spirits; brighten up the hubs of our homes and introduce a touch of texture at the same time. Functional and fashionable, they’re ideal if you’re looking for an easy way to update your existing scheme or to make a feature of the wet zone in a new design.

Here’s how you can embrace the latest kitchen trends and introduce colour and texture with a new granite sink:

Back to Black

Black never really seems to go out of fashion and it’s certainly in vogue in the kitchen right now. Striking, sophisticated and timeless, it’s a firm favourite with architects and designers alike and we can see why. But if an all-black look isn’t for you; you can make a design statement with just a dark coloured sink alone. Sleek and stylish, our new Matt Black finish will certainly make your Fragranite sink the star of any kitchen. Perfect if you’re looking to embrace the monochrome trend, a Matt Black model; such as the Maris MRG 611-97 inset Fragranite sink (pictured below); will complement most styles of kitchen and looks stunning when paired with a highly practical and stylish Instant Boiling Water tap like this chic Minerva Mondial 4-in-1 tap in elegant Copper.

Elegant Oyster

Oozing understated elegance, neutral, earthy tones such as brown, beige; taupe and tan can create a warm and welcoming vibe in the kitchen. With the naming of Brave Ground as the Dulux Colour of the Year for 2021; these subtle; organic shades are very much on-trend and Oyster, which enhances the subtle sheen on our Fragranite sinks, is no exception. A calming versatile neutral; Oyster works wonderfully when paired with an array of other colours from rich; jewel tones and black accents to greens, blues and whites, as well as natural materials such as wood. The Maris Inset sink in the new Oyster finish has been paired here with the Maris Pull Out Spray tap and Impress Hood in soft brown for a coordinated look (pictured below). This can also be achieved with the new Basis BFG inset Fragranite sinks in Oyster; which also comes in Polar White, Coffee, Onyx and Stone Grey.

It’s all white

You can’t go wrong with an all-white kitchen. Light, bright and utterly timeless it’s a classic shade that will complement every style from traditional and country-chic to modern and minimal designs. For a truly seamless aesthetic, blend one of our Polar White Kubus undermount Fragranite sinks with a white composite or quartz worktop as seen in this retro-chic kitchen (pictured below).

Gorgeous greys

Grey, in all its various guises, is one of the most elegant neutrals out there and remains one of the most popular, too. Our stylish Urban granite sinks come in a trio of gorgeous greys: Denim Grey, Orion Grey and Sage Grey, pictured below, as well as five other shades.

But if you’d rather add some contrast to a grey scheme, as here on Pronorm’s sophisticated Platinum Grey kitchen, consider adding one of our hardwearing, hygienic and tactile Matt Black Fragranite sinks.
