Berndorf Band, one of the worldwide leading vendors of steel belts for use in the food industry, is introducing the new BTRV2.1 compact belt tracking roller for steel belt conveyors and continuous oven lines at the iba 2015 trade show in Munich, the world’s leading trade fair for bakery, confectionery and snacks.
The new Berndorf Band belt tracking roller is a standalone system, which can be retrofitted to any solid or wire mesh steel belt conveyor suffering belt tracking problems, despite an existing belt tensioning system. Its operation is purely pneumatic – no electric power supply is needed.
A mechanical belt edge sensor monitors belt travel. When there are deviations, a pneumatic valve sends an air signal to a pneumatic cylinder, which adjusts the idler roller vertically to reset the required band position. The idler roller is centrally pivoted in a painted mild steel frame. The reaction speed and belt tolerances are easily adjusted.
The new BTRV2.1 should be bolted under the return strand next to the infeed drum for best performance. It needs only 300mm clearance and a stable mounting base. The maximum environment temperature is 60°C.
The roller is available in three sizes, for belt widths up to 1 000mm, 1 200mm and 1 500mm. It is suitable for belt speeds from 5 to 50m per minute.
The new BTRV2.1 can be installed by the operator’s own staff; no special skills are required.
