The road show of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna will be touring across the world with 10 venues. Its first stop is Seoul.
The success of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna comes from the combination of different factors: among them, the road show venues across the world, presenting the leading international trade exhibition dedicated to cosmetics and beauty, are a determining factor.
With the support of the Italian Ministry of the Economic Development and ITA – Italian Trade Agency, and thanks to the partnership with Cosmetica Italia – Personal Care Association, three years ago Cosmoprof developed a plan of road shows in the world, aiming at increasing the awareness of the format in new potential markets for the beauty business. These venues lead to new commercial and institutional contacts, with positive effects on the exhibitions in Bologna, Las Vegas and Hong Kong.
In the next months the road show will be touring at 10 venues in key markets across the world, in order to meet the needs of the companies exhibiting in the Cosmoprof events, and to create business relationships with buyers, distributors and retailers.
Special attention will be paid to the emerging countries in South-East Asia and in Continental Africa. First stop will be in South Korea (Seoul, 18 and 19 September), followed by Thailand (Bangkok, 3 and 4 October), Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur, 5 and 6 October), Ethiopia (Addis Ababa, from 5 to 7 October), Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh, 11 and 12 October), Russia (Moscow, from 24 to 26 October), Jordan (Amman, 29 and 30 October), Kazakhstan (Almaty, 22 and 23 November), Tanzania (Dodoma, 30 November and 1 December) and Mozambique (Maputo, from 7 to 9 December).
The international promotion will start in Seoul, South Korea, 19 and 20 September, at The Shilla Hotel. The presentation of the facts and figures of Cosmoprof 50, the 2017 edition, and of the new initiatives for the exhibition in 2018 to help the development of the beauty business to an international level, will be attended by buyers, distributors, associations and local companies.
‘One of the main features of Cosmoprof is its focus on international markets,’ says Gianpiero Calzolari, president of BolognaFiere. ‘The exhibition, undisputed leader for beauty and cosmetics, relies on a consistent attendance by buyers across the world. 29 Country Pavilions took part in the 2017 edition. These positive results come from our attention on networking with institutions, embassies, trade associations in countries interested in coming to our shows. Our road show program highlights the increasing interest on our platform: in 2016 we arranged seven venues, with the presence of buyers from 10 countries, 1,042 meetings and 78 editorials on local press. In the first months of 2017 we scheduled 13 venues, with the presence of buyers coming from 12 countries, 1,518 meetings and 92 press editorials.’
‘For what concerns internationalisation,’ says Calzolari, ‘the support granted by the Italian Ministry of the Economic Development and ITA is essential for the constant growth of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof as a leader in the world, considering as well the brand-new collaborations in Iran and Colombia announced for 2018, as part of a project which will increase the presence of the network in key emerging markets.’
‘Preliminary data for the first quarter of 2017 (+ 13.8 percent) confirm the strong growth of Italy’s cosmetics abroad recorded in 2016: +12.7 percent, for a final value of €4,293 million,’ says Michele Scannavini, president of the ICE Agency. ‘Thanks to the continuing increase in competitiveness of Italian companies on foreign markets, the trade balance has further expanded, reaching a record level of 2.3 billion euros, and the export-to-production ratio reached 41 percent. A steadily growing percentage, but with a potential still to be expressed. To consolidate the results and give new impetus to industry exports, ICE has put in place a number of activities with the aim of enhancing our production on international markets. Cosmoprof is part of this strategy, it is an important opportunity to give international visibility to the Italian brands in the cosmetic industry.’
‘Cosmetica Italia confirms its presence as partner of BolognaFiere Cosmoprof in the international promotion of the trade fair format. The initiative is part of a precise strategic project for the promotion of the Italian cosmetic industry in the world. For this reason the association will take part in the road show. The steady growth in exports, more than doubling in the last five years, with an extraordinary record at the end of 2016 of 4,800 million euros, explains the importance of supporting all the initiatives in foreign markets, increasingly interested in the Italian cosmetic offer,’ explains the president of Cosmetica Italia, Fabio Rossello.
The 2017 edition of Cosmoprof, which celebrated in Bologna its 50th anniversary, was attended by 2,677 exhibitors from 150 countries and more than 250,000 beauty professionals. Cosmoprof organises events in Las Vegas (Cosmoprof North America) and in Hong Kong (Cosmoprof Asia).
From 2017 Bologna Fiere Cosmoprof, organiser of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, is international sales agent of Iran Beauty &Clean, beauty trade show for Middle-East and the Gulf region, and of Belleza y Salud, B2B event for the South-American cosmetic industry held in Colombia. In 2018 Cosmoprof India will be held in Mumbai, too. New projects are being defined concerning new markets in South- East Asia.
