At its core, The Soft Life highlights the quiet yet profound influence of design through cultural exchange, collaboration and long-term relationships. Notably, this year’s theme was unveiled at the Women in Design event in Cape Town, which was hosted at the Anatomy Design showroom. Furthermore, the announcement also marked a significant milestone: Decorex Africa’s partnership with Maison&Objet Paris. In addition, South Africa has been named the Spotlight Country for the Rising Talent programme at Maison&Objet in September 2026, which serves as a testament to the growing global recognition of African design.

This year’s visual theme is equally striking, blending earthy tones like clay, plum, coral, and sage with vibrant neons such as lime, magenta, and ultraviolet.
