DERBIT, the waterproofing supplier with sustainable solutions to safeguard buildings from the elements of nature, launched VAEPLAN at the 2019 ‘Christmas in July’ event. Held at the Bontevlei Venue, Stellenbosch for the Winelands Built Environment Professionals group, the midyear event celebrates architects, quantity surveyors, and specifiers in the industry.

DERBIT General Manager, Harland Dix-Peek put up quite a show at the forum. Demonstrating VAEPLAN applications and getting assistance from a guest in the front row, the two had the audience in fits of laughter and awe at the performance of this waterproofing system. Each company at the get-together put a product gift pack into a lucky draw. The recipient of the VAEPLAN goodies said, “this only adds to the extensive DERBIT Waterproofing range”.

VAEPLAN and DERBIT membranes have a lifespan of 40 years. VAEPLAN is one product for all kinds of applications, it has reliable welding joints, anti-root, and is fire-safe. VAEPLAN allows for solvent, as well as heat welding on laps and joints, resulting in a monolithic (bonded into one) waterproofing system. No cold glueing is accepted. The simple and quick installation is a major benefit because it is fit for the capture and recycling of rainwater. The VAEPLAN roofing membranes can also be used for green roofs.
Multifunctional waterproofing for flat and inclined roofs, VAEPLAN is bonded with adhesive or mechanically fastened. This high-polymer, thermoplastic bitumen compatible VAE waterproofing membrane is lined with a laminated protection layer and synthetic polyester fleece.
