DERBIT introduces VAEPLAN at DAS Cape Town

Derbit General Manager Harland Dix - Peek

Harland Dix-Peek – General Manager DERBIT SA

DERBIT the professional waterproofing system supplier participated in the Designer, Architect, Specifier (DAS) Conference held at the Marriot Crystal Towers in Cape Town on the 24 July 2019. The CPD event provides a networking opportunity with sponsors and also gives the opportunity to present their brand and products to decision-makers in their industry. The speakers and topics addressed real issues facing the construction industry and architectural professionals.

DERBIT, one of the sponsors, displayed and demonstrated the new addition to the waterproofing range, VAEPLAN. General Manager of DERBIT Harland Dix-Peek declared the VAEPLAN synthetic roofing membrane the utmost fit for waterproofing.

“The advantages of synthetic membranes; fast application, reliable welds, one product for all applications and added value for your roof,” said Dix-Peek.

VAEPLAN membranes are made from a mix of copolymers, the acrylic polymers being chemically bonded to the vinyl structure. This molecular combination of vinyl with acrylic polymers results in a highly flexible and stable rubber copolymer.

The simple and fast application method consists of two welding techniques: hot air & cold welding. The welds are as strong as the material itself. During the welding, either with hot air or with the cold welding solvent a molecular fusion takes place in the overlap: the best guarantee for a reliable and long-lasting waterproofing of the joints.

The VAEPLAN roofing membranes are compatible with bitumen, any insulation material and old PVC roofing membranes. There is no need for a separate layer which means important savings, both in material and application costs.

The standard colour is grey. VAEPLAN V is applied universally, either loose laid, bonded, mechanically fastened. VAEPLAN VS is the self-adhesive version that guarantees excellent results.

VAEPLAN is fireproof, chemically resistant and high impact resistant. The specific composition on Vinyl Acryl Ester (VAE) base and the copolymerisation techniques guarantee durable flexibility so no ageing will occur due to plasticizer migration. This means the VAEPLAN system will last approximately 40 years.

VAEPLAN the synthetic roofing membrane is now available from DERBIT South Africa. Contact DERBIT to get more information 0860 DERBIT.
