In this issue of DiY News March 2025 – For the first time, the South African government’s Budget Speech, originally scheduled for February, has been postponed to 12 March. This delay follows the GNU partners’ rejection of a proposed 2% VAT increase. With the current VAT already a concern in an economically constrained landscape, this likely offers relief to both businesses and the general populace.

We await the National Treasury and Finance Minister’s commentary on budget allocations across sectors. Our hope is that the additional review period will yield favourable outcomes for the business sector.
