DSM Personal Care, global provider of ingredients and innovative solutions for some of the world’s best-selling beauty products, has appointed Dr Thomas Rudolph as its global head of research & development. He will also assume his role on DSM’s management team.
Strengths and expertise
Dr Rudolph has more than 15 years’ experience in the personal care industry. Since 1997 he has served in senior research and development positions at Sara Lee and Merck KGaA where he was responsible for various projects in the fields of product evaluation and cosmetics actives. He was chairman of the COLIPA (now Cosmetics Europe) task force for the ‘monitoring of UV light sources’ and is a member of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für angewandte und wissenschaftliche Kosmetik (DGK) task force for sun care products.
He graduated from the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, Germany in food chemistry and holds a doctorate degree (PhD) in photochemistry and analytics from the University of Stuttgart, Germany.
