Duravit 0.2 Category 1 CPD credit course: Innovative Bathroom Design

Neither Duravit nor its designers – renowned for their work, every one of them – are interested in “design for design’s sake”.

This is because good design is not just about looks, but equally about practicality and sustainability.

On average, we spend more that 800 days of our lives in a bathroom. To support our wellbeing, it is important to move away from seeing the bathroom just as a functional area and adopt an approach and philosophy, that sees the bathroom as an important part of our daily life when it comes to health, lifestyle and wellbeing.

When paying attention to the look and feel of a lifestyle bathroom, the bathroom turns into a comfortable space, which provides a refreshing atmosphere to get ready for the day and which allows us to relax, calm down and “recharge our batteries” in the evening.

In pursuing the goal to meet or even exceed the ever-growing demands and expectations of today‘s and tomorrow‘s bathroom users, new ideas are born that lead to new technologies and materials – and finally allow for new designs and more comfort.

Duravit’s Category One CPD presentation on Innovative Bathroom Design, explores the new technologies and materials of various bathroom products that will elevate your bathroom design to a new level.

The importance of knowing a product’s technical details when specifying various bathroom furniture, can determine the success of the project. The CPD presentation is designed to assist professionals as a specifying tool when considering the various options available.

Special needs bathrooms have always been designed to be only functional and not aesthetic. The future of disabled bathrooms incorporates aesthetics as well as functionality, with Duravit designing a more stylish variety of special needs ceramic ware. The module on disabled bathrooms, delves into the requirements for ceramics in a disabled bathroom according to SANS 10400, and the products that meet those requirements.

Understanding that professionals have limited time to attend CPD workshops, Duravit has partnered with e-CPD.pro’s Automated Architectural and Design Learning Platform, to make the CPD course available for professionals to complete at a time and place that is convenient for them.

The 2-hour course is broken up into convenient 10-15 minutes visually inspiring videos, for professionals to complete when they have a moment to spare and is accessible on any smart device.
