A platform for business and innovation

Gary Corin, Managing Director of Specialised Exhibitions, part of the Montgomery Group, emphasises the event’s significance: “Electra Mining Africa has built its reputation as a platform for trade; the place where buyers and sellers meet to do business. Deals are made and beneficial partnerships are formed.” This five-day event is instrumental in stimulating trade within the industrial, manufacturing, and mining sectors of South Africa’s economy.

Engaging seminars and conferences

A standout feature of Electra Mining Africa is its programme of world-class, free-to-attend seminars. Industry leaders from the mining and industrial sectors will deliver insights on the latest developments, both globally and locally. Topics will cover new legislation, local industry challenges, case studies, and leading technologies. These seminars are aligned with daily themes such as sustainability, women’s day, skills development, safety and lifting, innovation, and South Africa day. The seminars will be held in Hall 9 and hosted by the South African Institute of Mechanical Engineering (SAIMechE).

In conjunction with the show, the Lifting Equipment Engineering Association of SA (LEEASA) and the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) will host valuable conferences. Charlene Hefer, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions, notes the inclusion of Women in Mining South Africa (WiMSA), which will host a half-day workshop on Women’s Day. Additionally, WiMBIZ, representing 500 female-owned companies in the mining industry, will facilitate networking opportunities for business partnerships. A hosted networking function will further support these interactions.
