Air Traffic and Navigation Services (ATNS) SOC Ltd, in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education (DBE), recently handed over a fully equipped science laboratory to Mabushe Secondary School in Ramalema, Tickyline Village, Limpopo. This initiative underscores ATNS’s ongoing commitment to fostering educational excellence and supporting rural communities.
Established in 1986, Mabushe Secondary School is a quintile 2 institution (indicating high levels of poverty and need), with 19 dedicated educators serving 550 learners. The new laboratory provides a state-of-the-art environment that will significantly enhance the quality of science education at the school.
The donation aims to equip educators with modern teaching resources, inspire learners to develop a passion for science, and expand career pathways in STEM fields that were previously inaccessible to these rural students.
This marks another milestone in ATNS’s national education initiative that has delivered science laboratories to schools across all nine South African provinces. The partnership between ATNS and DBE demonstrates how public-private collaboration effectively advances educational opportunities in underserved communities.
