Essential Hardware raises another flag

Another independent hardware store joined the Essential Hardware group, this time in Somerset East.

Buchner Hardware

Tonie de Wet took ownership of Buchner Hardware in May 2008. At the time, Buchner Hardware had already been meeting the hardware needs of Somerset East for 14 years. “Today, we are proud to have continued in the legacy of growth and excellence set before us. There is no order too small or too big, and no stock item which we will not endeavour to supply”, says Tonie.

Buchner Hardware made the astute decision to join the Essential Group in March 2021. The passion portrayed by the Essential Business Development Management team for all things DIY has been a constant reminder of why Tonie decided to become a part of the Essential pack. “With its strong leadership in the hardware market, the Group empowers us to stay ahead of the competition and maintain our reputation for quality”, says Tonie.

Essential Hardware in turn is delighted to reveal its new Essential Hardware banner and look forward to building brands together. As part of this brand-building exercise, and under the skilled direction of Tonie de Wet, Buchner Hardware has undergone a total transformation. “We are proud to announce that we will soon reveal an even better shopping space, with facelifts to both the exterior and interior of the store.

“At Buchner Hardware, our core value will always be the community. This is an ethos that dovetails perfectly with Essential’s pack mentality. With this in mind, we are also thrilled that co-members, Karoo Coffee Co and Pro Cleaning Carwash share our premises. This certainly enriches our customers’ shopping experience; along with the secure, paved parking offered behind the store.

Somerset East and neighbouring towns can now visit the store to get everything they need in hardware while enjoying a delicious cup of coffee, having your car washed, and being assisted by a friendly and experienced team.
