Frio Foods is a busy wholesale butchery and supplier of packaged processed meat, based in Springs, Gauteng. Among other products, the company processes salami, ham, bacon, Viennas and Russians, which it supplies to the retail market.
When Frio Foods’ Anthony Baxter approached Buckle Packaging for a high-volume machine that would seal their bags of Russian and Vienna sausages, MD Anthony Mason was able to find the right solution for them.
“After examining the factory set-up and client’s requirements, we decided that the Fischbein-Saxon SH1000 hot air continuous heat sealer would be the right solution for their high volume demands,” explains Mason.
“The Fischbein-Saxon machine presents the most advanced bag-sealing technology available today,” he continues. The SH1000 uses the principle of heat transfer by convection. It takes the ambient air, which is transmitted to specially designed heating capsules where it is then passed over a heating cartridge, and heats the air close to the mouth of the bag. The hot air is then blown onto the bag to complete the sealing process.
The hygienic, stainless-steel finish not only looks cleaner, but is also more suitable for the food industry. The SH1000’s secure hot-air seal is the ideal solution for a wide variety of sealing applications that include food, medical, pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.
Buckle Packaging’s representative was on hand during the installation and, together with the operating staff at Frio Foods, was able to configure the machine’s height, temperature and speed to ensure a high-quality tight seal of the bag. All Saxon SH1000 machines are customised to the bag dimensions and specifications of customers on installation.
Frio Foods now has a high-speed bag closing machine in place, which not only produces quality bag sealing to high food standards, but has also improved production levels for the company.
