Grand Designs Live gets new sponsor

Grand Designs Live, BLACK+DECKER, The Dome

Black and Decker will be a main sponsor at the annual Grand Designs Live, held at The Dome, in Northgate on 20 to 22 May 2016.

Since BLACK+DECKER increased its presence as a brand in South Africa in 2015, it is now in a strong position in the local market to grow even more.

Black and Decker is gaining prominence in the retail space as has decided to take up the headline sponsorship of Grand Designs Live, which is being held at The Dome, in Northgate on 20 to 22 May 2016.

This exciting lifestyle show which originated in the UK is based on the hugely successful TV series aired on BBC Lifestyle and presented by design guru Kevin McCloud. Grand Designs Live is a leading contemporary home, design and garden show which now brings stylish yet accessible home renovation and design solutions to South African consumers each year.

“The theme of Grand Designs this year is ‘Responsible Living’ which is in-line with Black and Decker’s local vision to enhance the homes of South African’s in a responsible and sustainable way. People coming to the show are in for some fantastic surprises. We intend to fully live up to Black and Decker’s reputation as an innovator and to create an interactive and experiential journey with the brand,” says Mayan Desai, Trade Marketing Manager of Stanley Black & Decker Southern Africa. “We have recently repositioned Black and Decker as a brand for the home due to its rich and varied product offering so the partnership with Grand Designs is a perfect fit,” Desai says.

As the headline sponsor of Grand Designs Live, Black and Decker will keep visitors entertained with a celebrity line-up and expert advice in quality presentations at the DIY Theatre.

Interactive workshops will be on offer to those who want to immerse themselves in DIY experiences. There is also fun to be had with the home appliance range. Other ranges including Stanley and DeWalt, which are part of the Stanley Black&Decker offering, will also be on display. And there will be some show-stopper offers available on select Black and Decker products at the show.

“Black and Decker tools and household appliances contribute towards living in a responsible manner, saving money with DIY projects which are a creative way to spend leisure time or saving time cleaning up or preparing meals. Some of these household tools even provide innovative solutions to save water,” says Desai. “Black and Decker creates powerfully simple, high quality products that enable owners to get the task done more quickly and efficiently, giving them the pride to enjoy their home, and more time to spend with their family.”

There is a myriad of exciting areas, exhibits and experiences to participate in at Grand Designs Live, which offers a different experience to other home shows. “Grand Designs Live has revolutionised South African consumer exhibitions, with the most loved, innovative and inspiring home, décor and garden show now attracting an expected 25 000 people and over 250 leading exhibitors,” says Sandra Barrow, Consumer Events Manager of Media10 South Africa.
