Grinding discs are considered essential products for many tradesmen. Although conventional grinding discs offer several advantages, they also have some disadvantages especially related to ergonomics.
Abrasive tool solutions provider Pferd, has designed and developed several alternatives to the traditional grinding disc that offer higher performance and much improved ergonomics.
“The newly introduced E-Comfort and CC Grind Strong products from Pferd achieves an exceptional stock removal rate in a short space of time” says Pferd South Africa’s national sales manager, Dennis Phillips. “These innovations offer the user unmatched comfort while maintaining the highest safety and performance standards.”
Both the E-Comfort and CC Grind Strong products combines the advantages of the traditional grinding disc with that of a high-performance coated abrasive. “The E-Comfort consists of a single layer coated abrasive and the CC Grind Strong of three layers,” explains Phillips. The unique construction allows for an overall noise, dust and vibration reduction, and perfectly merge the coated and bonded abrasives to provided unsurpassed performance and service life while maximising ergonomics and overall efficiency.
The design and concept also have the ability to reduce production steps as it eliminates the need for various secondary products such as flap discs or fibre discs in certain applications.
Since its inception in 1968, Pferd South Africa has been committed to provide the market with the highest level of service and products offering the user maximum performance and safety thanks to its philosophy that, ‘there is no substitute for quality and safety’.
“Pferd’s product range is ISO 9001:2015 certified and the company is a proud founding member of the Organisation for the Safety of Abrasive (OsA),” mentions Phillips.
“We as an organisation are committed to the post lockdown revitalisation of the South African economy and will therefore continue investing in technology that offers the market economically viable product solutions, which have long term sustainability in mind, Phillips explained.”
