Ground-breaking equipment, products and technologies at Electra Mining

Electra Mining Africa, Southern Africa’s largest trade show across the mining, electrical, automation, manufacturing, power and transport industries, takes place from 5-9 September at the Expo Centre, Nasrec, in Johannesburg.

With Electra Mining Africa (#EMA2022) fast approaching, hundreds of exhibitors are getting ready to unveil their latest cutting-edge machinery, products, technologies and services at Southern Africa’s biggest mining, electrical, automation, manufacturing, power and transport trade exhibition.

Many live demonstrations will be taking place across the five halls and outside exhibit areas – including activations on water. Visitors will see ground-breaking equipment, products and technologies in action! Fun giveaways and competitions will also take place during the five days of the show.

Launch of new products

Fabchem Mining, a leading supplier and manufacturer of strata control products and drilling consumables, will launch its latest innovation, the Yielding Anchor. Designed with the deep gold mines in mind, the 38ton yielding tendon is used underground to support areas prone to seismic activities.

The theme of Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions’ stand will be ‘The Future of Mining’ and will highlight the many ways in which Sandvik can help customers move into the world of the fourth industrial revolution (4IR). The company’s major presence with its 385m2 indoor stand will also see the introduction of a ground-breaking battery electric vehicle (BEV) to the African mining market.

Ground-breaking machinery and equipment can be seen throughout the exhibition.

Live demos bring machinery, technology to life

TOMRA Mining will showcase its sensor-based sorting solutions at Electra Mining Africa. For the first time, it will conduct live demonstrations of its ground-breaking COM XRT 300/FR final recovery sorter to illustrate its unique advantages for diamond operations.

Technology systems integrator and operational technology contractor, Ramjack Technology Solutions (RAMJACK), will be exhibiting at the show alongside nearly a dozen of its technology partners. Through a series of presentations and hands-on-technology demos, they will unveil strategies and processes that guarantee value not only from the latest innovations, but also from existing technology systems, with proven results.

The innovative technology behind the Jungheinrich ERCa, automated guided forklift vehicle, will be demonstrated at Electra Mining Africa. The ERC 215a Automated Guided Vehicle System with lithium-ion technology ensures that the material flow never stops.

Mixtec, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of industrial mixers and agitators, will be showcasing its advanced impeller technology as well as other offerings at the show. Its very own high-level mixer designs, agitator and unique impeller technology, the EDICT System, is an exclusive Mixtec offering that operates at optimal speed with significantly reduced installed power requirements. Exciting, live demonstrations will take place at the stand as well as a chance to win one of three giveaways.

A working conveyor belt on Truco Rubber’s outside stand will enable visitors to physically see solutions to all conveyor-belt needs. It will show the benefit of multiple solutions to repairs rather than investing in a new belt.

And there’s action! Live demos across exhibition halls and outside areas.

Showcase of innovation and cutting-edge technologies

With its in-house experts on hand to brief visitors to the stand on the company’s comprehensive line-up of minerals processing equipment, Multotec will have a strong presence at this year’s event. The overall theme will be how Multotec’s equipment and systems can assist in realising Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals.

Doppelmayr, a world leading expert in ropeway engineering, provides solutions for all types of bulk material and unit load transport requirements. Its systems such as ropeways and the RopeCon® are especially well suited for difficult terrain and allow spanning obstacles. RopeCon® is Doppelmayr’s innovative concept for conveying bulk material. A scale model will be on display to help understand the design.

The status quo of industrial maintenance cleaning has been changed by introducing dry-ice blast cleaning. It’s a non-abrasive, non-toxic and innovative time-saving cleaning method introduced by Dry Ice Blasting Services and will be on display at their stand. It offers a modernised cleaning method that reduces downtime and increases production output.

SEW-EURODRIVE, one of the world’s leading specialists in drive technology, motion and automation, will display its range of gearboxes and electric motors, gearmotors, gear units, motors, components for decentralised installation, electronically controlled drives and variable-speed drives.

These are just a few of the many more new product launches, live demonstrations and innovation displays that will be at this year’s event.
