Comas-RS1-machine-launched-at-Propak-Africa-2016During Propak Africa 2016, Imas Ingenious Machines (Imas) will play host to a number of technical and marketing experts from the company’s European principals. These specialists will share their expertise with visitors and present their latest innovations and developments in packaging machinery and inspection technologies.

The following principals will be represented at the Imas stand:

Bonfiglioli Engineering & Bonfiglioli Pharma (Italy)

As a leader in leak testing and inspection systems, the manufacturer supplies in-line, off-line and laboratory systems for leak testing and visual inspection of a range of filled and empty containers. Its systems can test and inspect anything from vials and ampoules to bottles, IV bags, tubes, tubs, sachets, blisters and aerosols.

Bonfiglioli launched its revolutionary laser-based Headspace Gas Analysis system at Achema 2015 and will highlight further developments to the system at Propak Africa.

Comas (Italy)

This supplier boasts experience and advanced design capabilities in designing and building filling and capping machines as well as complete lines for most containers, caps, overcaps, nozzles and liquid product packs.

Comas’ most recent projects in South Africa include the installation of a high-speed cleaning, filling and capping line, which has been designed for a variety of bottle sizes and liquid packs. It also completed the installation of an extremely versatile filling and capping line with automatic de-pucking for heavily contoured bottles, lids and nozzles.

Imas will unveil the Comas RS1 filler, capper and overcapper at the expo. The machine can fill liquids and powders into small bottles, vials and tubes. It is well-suited to sterile filling applications and the filling of dangerous products.

Comas-RFC8-Monoblock-Filler Capper_OvercapperElocom (Spain)

The company supplies open-mouth, tubular and form-fill-seal automatic bagging machines, palletisers, stretch wrappers and overwrappers. The machines are used to pack powder, granular, fibre, pellet and compound products.

Elocom’s patented bagging system for hygroscopic products is expected to be the highlight of presentation to Propak Africa visitors.

Fedegari (Italy)

The equipment manufacturer is well known as a leader in autoclaves, ovens and steriliser technology. It will exhibit its latest developments at the show, including its new all-in-one washer-sterilisers, which eliminate the use of separate washers and sterilisers during the production process.

Fedegari’s extensive expertise have enabled it to significantly expand its product range, which includes sterility test isolators, gloveless aseptic robotic filling systems, bulk de-dusting systems, contamination control units, isolation technology, chemical bio-decontamination and turnkey sterilisation solutions.

Gerteis from Switzerland

This Swiss manufacturer of advanced high-quality roller compactors has set the standard with its unique dry granulation technology.

Hartmut vom Bey, VP of sales and technology at Gerteis, will be present at the trade fair to discuss issues related to dry granulation, including:

  • critical process parameters and their influence on product quality and product registration
  • how to control critical parameters
  • critical change parts such as press roller surfaces
  • process possibilities and limitations
  • possible products to be roller compacted
  • scale-up and possible scale-up factors.

Steriline from Italy

This company specialises in decontaminating machines, crabs and isolators, aseptic filling, stoppering and capping machines, depyrogenating tunnels, as well as linear and rotary washing machinery.

Propak Africa 2016 takes place from 15 to 18 March at the Expo Centre, Nasrec in Johannesburg. Pre-register here>> for the show.
