Intertek helps clients create sustainable food safety solutions

This year’s World Food Safety Day theme, “Safe food now for a healthy tomorrow” emphasises that production and consumption of safe food has both instant and long-term benefits for people, the planet, and the economy.

This is in line with Intertek’s “Build Back Ever Better” movement, it doesn’t believe that corporations or societies should settle for returning to a new normal, we believe that together we can create safer and more sustainable solutions for the next generation. Intertek has three priority areas: helping make supply chains more secure; improving better personal safety for everyone; and building a lower-carbon society.  It is important to recognise that these three areas are interconnected, and we can make a difference as individuals and as businesses.

Standardised internationally accepted food safety audits

With supply chains becoming increasingly globalised and complex, the need for standardized, internationally accepted food safety audits has grown. Food safety audits provide transparency and traceability in the supply chain, enhancing quality and efficiency, while also reducing cost and risk. Intertek offers a wide range of food safety certification services of your systems, processes, and products, delivered by a team of expert auditors.

Intertek offers various recognised certification programs which demonstrates that a company has a robust Food Safety Management System (FSMS) in place to meet the requirements of regulators, customers, and consumers. We are accredited to award certification for a broad range of standards that are considered worldwide benchmarks for best practice in the food industry, as well as a range of other nationally and internationally recognised standards.

For some companies, managing food safety is an overwhelming task on its own.  With the pandemic bringing new financial pressures and operational changes, it has become difficult for some entities to maintain their food safety system while maintaining revenue growth.  As an experienced food certification body Intertek offers our clients with the necessary training and support to meet challenges and promote Food Safety and Quality.
