Marple Skin Care is putting its latest launch to the test by entering Marple équilibre into the 2017 Pharmaceutical & Cosmetic Review/Symrise New Product Competition.
The brand calls its new offering a prestigious range that is scientifically formulated for sensitive skin. It promises to even tone and is formulated with Mongongo and Kalahari Melon oils, Niacinamide and Vitamin B3, and is dermatologically tested.Marple’s products are not tested on animals. They are also free from parabens, petrochemicals and SLS. The range includes day and night creams, body lotion, hand cream, face wash, shower gel, and a toner.
A youthful elixir
Marple équilibre incorporates the holy grail of skin care, Niacinamade to address the appearance of fine lines and improve the retention of moisture, slowing down premature ageing.
In multiple clinical studies, topical application of niacinamide improved fine lines and wrinkles, skin shallowness (yellowing), hyperpigmentation, and red blotchiness, as well as elasticity. It has also been shown to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production, as well as even skin tone by slowing down the transfer of melanin to skin’s epidermis.
Good for problem skin
Strengthening the outer layer of skin is a major property of niacinamide. Vitamin B3 provides a fuel, which strengthens cellular bonds and tightens skin. As a result of this tightening, acne has a tougher time taking root. A 2004 study in the Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology confirms this statement. German researchers found the stabilisation of the skin’s outer layer has an anti-inflammatory effect, which can prevent breakouts.
Niacinamide has been cited in two different studies as a well-tolerated treatment. Wake Forest University scientists tested 50 subjects with rosacea. Their study, which was published in the August 2005 issue of Cutis found that applying a Niacinamide-based moisturiser to the face and forearm twice daily for four weeks alleviated symptoms of the condition.
