Modular Shelving: A Must for Minimalist Modern Living

Modular furniture is a trend that has taken 2020 by storm as seen via designers, décor publications and design shows the world over, with the rise in popularity of these pieces being due to their versatility and ability to respond to different uses and spaces. Fortunately for design-conscious consumers, forward-thinking workplaces and enterprising retailers, there is now a chic shelving solution that lets you create configurations that best suit your space, style and needs – the Modular Shelving System from TimHarris Design.

The Modular Shelving System from TimHarris Design lets you create configurations that best suit your space, style and needs.
The TimHarris Design Modular Shelving System has been designed to be infinitely adaptable.

Created from birch ply, which is known for its strength and lightweight, powder-coated aluminium, the TimHarris Design Modular Shelving System has been designed to be infinitely adaptable. The only element attached to the wall is the horizontal rails from which the shelves hang securely. In fact, it is the weight of each shelf that secures it safely in place on the rail – not screws, just gravity.  The shelves can also be flipped either way up and moved anywhere along the rails for dynamic décor at its finest.

Harris credits his wife Lauren for being the muse behind the System’s design. “A few years ago, when we were living in a small flat, she asked me to install more shelving. I wanted to do something special for her. I also wanted something clean and innovative. When I unveiled the modular shelving system a few months later, she loved it and so did others who visited.”

He adds that the System also encourages minimalism – a philosophy he applies to all areas of his life. “Our home is intentionally small, because it means we buy fewer unnecessary things, spend less money and clutter is reduced, yet every facet of our home is considered. Minimalism and being critical about my buying choices are important to me, so I have designed my furniture to complement my lifestyle and want to do the same for others with the same outlook.”

Whether shelving is required in your lounge, office, bedroom, retail store, child’s room or wardrobe, there is an array of modular shelving options and components  available to ensure that you are always in control.

All materials used in the TimHarris Design Modular Shelving System are sourced from local suppliers and produced by local manufacturers.
