Put the fluff back in marshmallow frosting

Woolworths Marshmallow Frosting enters New Product CompetitionWoolworths Marshmallow Frosting is a fabulously white, glossy, sweet frosting ideal for use on cakes, cupcakes and tarts – like lemon meringue pie and red velvet. It is a powder based product which requires no refrigeration and has a long shelf life in powder form. The product has entered the Food Review/Symrise New Product Competition with its grand prize of a trip to the Anuga trade fair held in Cologne, Germany in 2017.

The product is easy to prepare. Just add 100ml of room temperature water to the powder mix in a bowl, mix with a spatula, and allow the mixture to stand for two minutes. Then beat on high speed with an electric mixer and balloon whisk for eight to 10 minutes until the marshmallow frosting forms fluffy stiff peaks.

The marshmallow frosting may be spread, spooned or piped. A blow torch can be used to caramelise the frosting and give it that wonderful toasted marshmallow look and flavour.
