Lafarge South Africa recently welcomed Praveen Bechoo as its general manager for aggregates.
Praveen, whose appointment commenced on October 1 2014, is based at the Lafarge head office in Longmeadow, Johannesburg and is a member of the country executive committee.
A qualified engineer, Praveen holds a BSc in mechanical engineering, a bachelor of commerce and an MBA.
Prior to joining Lafarge, he occupied various senior management positions with companies such as Eskom, Holcim and M-Web Commerce Zone. His recent position was Business Unit Chief Executive Officer at Macsteel Coil Processing and Macsteel Special Steels, where he spent 13 years.
Praveen replaces Jacques Schutte, who has been overseeing the Aggregates Product Line for the past nine months. Schutte will return to his position as strategy and business development manager.
