Nimue’s innovations deliver visible results

Nimue is renowned for its expert understanding of the skin and the effective treatment of various skin conditions. As a leader in scientific skin care, Nimue Skin Technology (Nimue) promises to deliver transformative results for a variety of skin types.

After an extended period of intense R&D, Nimue has launched a wide range of new professional and retail skin care products. A number of these new launches have been entered in the 2019 P&C Review/Symrise New Product Competition.

Nimue introduces Super Fluids

These super concentrates empower therapists to customise treatments to each client’s specific concerns. Each of the variants has an ultra-thin microencapsulated active to ensure penetration, even distribution and absorption of the specific active into the skin.

‘If, for example, you have unusually sensitive, problematic skin, tailoring your treatment with both the Prebiotic and Cyanoacrylate Super Fluids will treat both the primary and secondary skin concerns,’ says Jackie Swart, head of R&D at Nimue. ‘By incorporating Super Fluids into your treatment, your therapist tailors a high concentration of active ingredients to treat concerns without causing a reaction to the skin.’

The range of Nimue Super Fluids includes Retinol Super Fluid to fight the signs of ageing, Vitamin C Super Fluid to address uneven skin tone, Prebiotic Super Fluid for problematic and oily skin prone to breakouts, and the Cyanoacrylate Super Fluid for sensitive skin.

World-first Environmental Shield SPF 50

Stay protected all year round with Nimue’s Environmental Shield SPF 50. It is a globally advanced SPF and the first to contain a revolutionary anti-oxidant ingredient scientifically proven to prevent the formation of free radicals.

It protects against pollution, infrared light, UVA and UVB light, as well as blue light emitted from smartphones, tablets and computer screens, which are all capable of causing more damage to skin than expect.

According to Nimue, it’s the ultimate shield against premature ageing and a must for men and women of all ages and skin types. Unlike a regular sunscreen, the lightweight formula of the Environmental Shield SPF 50 is non-greasy, mattifying and non-whitening.

Breakthrough treatment uneven skin tone

Nimue’s new and improved Fader range boasts the award winning, patented molecule Diglucosyl Gallic Acid. The molecule is activated by human skin and converted it into a powerful hyperpigmentation fighting active.

The range includes:

  • A lightweight Day Fader moisturiser for daytime
  • A lightweight Night Fader moisturiser for the evening
  • A nourishing Day Fader Plus moisturiser for daytime
  • A nourishing Night Fader Plus moisturiser for the evening
  • An intense Fade Treatment for localised targeted use
  • A concentrated Fader Serum for day and night time use

This range will not only focus on uneven skin colouring, but also target other major skin complexion disorders such as dark spots, blemishes, redness and dullness.

Nimue’s new Thermal Detox Peel

Detox in a flash with the new Thermal Detox Peel. This rich charcoal based multi-functional peel delivers instant hydration, plumping and all-round radiance.

Following the flash facial trend, the 30 minute professional treatment delivers visible improvements in a fraction of the time required by traditional facials. The detoxifying peel combines a bubbling action to deep-cleanse the skin from environmental pollutants, toxins, and impurities, with a thermo-sensory mechanism that creates a warming sensation to boost circulation and oxygenation of the skin’s cells.

Swart comments: ‘People with fast-paced lifestyles and demanding schedules understandably have less time in their day to go for treatments. Life can easily become a juggling act, but our skin shouldn’t bear the brunt of a busy lifestyle.’

The Thermal Detox Peel is designed to complement Nimue’s at home use skin care ranges, and is safe, affordable and suitable to use on clients with alternative skin care regimes.

Smart Resurface Peel

‘Chemical peels are very popular for the results they deliver, but they tend to come with a variety of side effects like redness, inflammation and the risk of permanent skin damage. This is why many people are anxious about trying a skin peel for the first time,’ says Swart.

In keeping with Nimue’s commitment to achieve results without causing harm to the skin, the Smart Resurfacer Peel delivers impressive visible results without negative side-effects and downtime. Because the formulation does not contain any water, there is no friction on the skin and stinging is minimised. As a result, the treatment has been designed to give the client a more pleasant experience.

‘We have been blown away by the results in our trials. The Smart Resurfacer is Nimue’s most “potent” yet safe peel to date and it does not disappoint. We are scientifically resurfacing and rebuilding the skin for a radiant appearance,’ Swart adds.

The advanced formulation contains salicylic acid and pyruvic acid. These actives, in addition to ingredients that protect the skin from over-stimulation and prevent moisture loss, offer  some incredible benefits to all skin types and consumers of all ages.
