Olympic Colour Cafe, a new concept by Olympic Paints, has opened its doors in centurion mall to redefine how we experience colour, design and coffee. This design-led retail café is built around the philosophy of ‘Curated Living’. It offers an immersive environment where customers can explore, create and be inspired.
A visionary design by Nisha van der Hoven
The cafe, designed by architect Nisha van der Hoven, founder of Hoven, redefines the traditional retail experience. By blending contemporary design trends with local character, the café transforms retail into a warm, tactile and inspiring space where décor meets experience.
‘From the beginning, my goal was to dissolve the boundary between retail and ritual,’ explains van der Hoven. ‘Rather than creating a conventional paint store, we envisioned an immersive environment. It is part gallery, part workshop and part café; a place where visitors don’t just select a colour but feel it, test it and build a connection with it.’
Visitors can also explore Olympic Paints’ extensive colour ranges alongside a curated selection of décor elements, including sofas, wood panelling, lighting, wallpapers, fabrics, carpets and vinyl flooring.
A design-led experience
At the heart of Olympic Colour Cafe is its unique blend of services. The café combines a paint retail store, interior design consultations and a premium coffee shop. Visitors can interact with curated colour collections, designer collaborations and interactive mood-board stations. The café also offers personalised colour and interior design consultations with experts, making it a one-stop destination for design enthusiasts.
Curated décor elements
The café features a carefully considered selection of décor elements, including sofas, wood panelling, lighting, wallpapers, fabrics, carpets and vinyl flooring. These elements are sourced from renowned partners such as Belgotex, Brightstar Lighting, WoodUpp and Home Fabrics, ensuring quality and style.
Expansion plans
Olympic Colour Cafe is set to expand its footprint across South Africa. Following its initial launch, a second store will open at Mall of the South in May 2026. A Cape Town location is also planned for later in 2026, bringing this innovative concept to more customers.
