Omya explores the future of oral care formulations

The fifth annual Healthy Bite Symposium brought together experts from science, industry and marketing backgrounds for discussions on the latest developments and trends in oral care products.

The Healthy Bite, launched in 2019, is the first-ever event enabling a focused exchange on the newest findings in functional and active ingredients for oral care formulations. This year’s symposium took place on 7 September. Lectures, debates, selected showcases and networking set the stage for insights into the future of the oral care market.

This year’s enriching educational programme included enlightening lectures and a comprehensive table-top exhibition by industry stalwarts on the challenges and future prospects of the oral care industry.

Dr Andreas Kiesow, of Fraunhofer IMWS, revealed an innovative technique to evaluate remineralisation in vitro using Tof-Sims (a powerful method of material analysis). Delving into the realm of oral biofilm, Dr Teresa Berninger of Jungbunzlauer, highlighted the significant effects of Erylite. Completing the line-up, Axel Kaiser of Denttabs, captivated the audience with his vision for ‘Teethcare Re-Invented’ exploring innovative application forms. The series of lectures culminated with Omya’s own exploration into evolving oral care trends, bridging the gap between today’s practices and tomorrow’s promises.
