Developed on the innovative platform of a biomedical engineering company, Optiphi, a South African anti-ageing skin and body care brand, treated press to an informative morning on 10 June, to showcase its two new products: Intense HA Serum and Intense Retinol Serum.
The Optiphi brand is the brainchild of Skin Rejuvenation Technologies, a sister company to the international renowned dental and medical implants company and bioengineering firm, Southern Group.
To develop the anti-ageing skin and body care ranges of Optiphi, the company embarked on a three year mission to grow the high-tech cosmeceutical market in South Africa by excelling in the scientific development of products to rehabilitate skin on a cellular level through the use of proven actives and innovative formulation technology.
Intense HA Serum
According to the brand, the HA Infinity Serum is designed to re-plump, add volume and intensify skin hydration on a cellular level. ‘This serum invigorates dehydrated, dry and structurally weak skin by increasing cellular longevity and boosting hydration. Increased cellular activity will result in improved skin health and cellular proliferation, promoting youthful, plump looking skin.’
The two main actives used in the Intense HA formulation are PepHA and hyaluronic acid in a small molecular weight to allow for effective penetration into the skin.
Intense Retinol Serum
This concentrated product targets cellular rejuvenation, with retinol, one of the most researched and prolific anti-ageing ingredients, included in its formulation.
The serum claims to significantly reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production, ‘revitaliing cells from within’, for optimal prevention of skin-ageing.
The main actives used in the Intense Retinol Serum’s formulation are retinol, tocoperol (or vitamin E), synthetide, and mitofin.
Skin care innovation
Harnessing specialist knowledge within the Southern Group, which includes biotechnology, tissue engineering, biomedical engineering and cell biology expertise, the company holistically developed the Optiphi brand from a cosmeceutical angle.
All of the products in the skin care and body care ranges are manufactured at the Skin Rejuvenation Technologies’ manufacturing and R&D facility located in Centurion, Gauteng. Great thought and innovation has gone into conceptualising and formulating all Optiphi products, from airless packaging to the use of the purest and most concentrated forms of proven ingredients.
Optiphi’s skin and body care products are sold in salons, at independent retailers and through dermatologists and doctors.
