Natural & organic - a hot topic!

Collagen supplements, wellness powders, plant-based lifestyles, vegan and clean beauty and other trends in food and beverages are shaping the organic and natural market. With these trends in mind, Africa’s first Organic and Natural products expo takes place next month.

From 21 to 21 October, The Deck at Wanderers Stadium on Corlett Drive, in Illovo, Johannesburg will host the Organic & Natural Products Africa 2022. The event is in response to the rapidly growing demand and dramatic public shift in attitude towards products and remedies in all sectors from cosmetics and herbal medicines to food and beverages. This awareness has been partly stimulated by concerns brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic and mostly by people’s desire to achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Expo attracts massive interest

The expo has earned favourable support from sector organisations as well as provincial and government agencies, which see growth in these industries as an engine for SME development.

“We have been delighted by the positive response to the launch of this event,” says John Thomson of South African Trade promotions, the organiser of the expo. “It seems everyone wants a piece of this action, from companies rushing to exhibit to trade buyers and retailers looking for new product lines.”

The expo has attracted interest from all across Africa with exhibitors booked from as far afield as west Africa and Tanzania. Exhibitors based closer to home are those coming from Kenya, Swaziland, Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana.

Organic & Natural Products Africa 2022 takes place over three days from Friday to Sunday to allow for maximum public attendance. As well as the hundreds of products that will be on display, there will be a presentation theatre offering a range of relevant industry related topics and cooking demonstrations daily. Expo hours are 10h00 to 17h00.
