PortiaM Skin Solutions, a privately black owned skin care company, was named the overall winner in the inaugural Tshwane Exporters Awards, which recently took place at the Southern Sun Hotel in Pretoria.
Recognising local companies
The awards programme is a new initiative of the Tshwane Economic Development Agency (TEDA) to highlight notable the achievements of business operating in various sectors, in export markets including Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Australasia, Asia, South America, and North America. The event also recognises the contribution made by the export sectors in growing Pretoria’s economy.

The MMC for economic development in the city, Subesh Pillay, delivered a key note address to kick off the evening’s proceedings, in which he challenged TEDA and the business sector to ensure that the 2016 edition of the awards grows to attract more quality exporters to participate.
The winners of the 2015 awards are as follows:
- Emerging Exporter: PortiaM Skin Solutions
- Best SMME Exporter: Expertron Group
- Best Service Exporter: Tom Tom South Africa
- Manufacturing Exporter: CNC Clear Cut Development
- Established and Large Exporter: DCD Metpro
- Overall Best Exporter of the Year: PortiaM Skin Solutions.
PortiaM Skin Solutions produces skin care products based on marula oil. The company’s product range includes skin oil, face wash, body cream, toner, night cream and day cream.
