Prodist, a wholesale supplier to the hardware industry, recently held their annual open day for hardware retailers.

After the success of the previous year’s Prodist Open Day, the company decided to keep the format the same, only with more emphasis on new ranges and special offers.

Prodist focuses on the development of an efficient channel of supply into the agri-business and hardware retail store markets in South Africa and neighbouring countries. With a distribution centre in Kempton Park, Gauteng, Prodist offers a wide range of well-known local and overseas brands. Fast and efficient deliveries are completed on an overnight basis or within three days to every town in the country.

Prodist is jointly owned by Hinterland, the retail operation of Afgri and Senwes and Legendary Retail Brands (LRB), incorporating the Mica Hardware Store Group, DIY Depot and House of Paints. Prodist has a direct involvement with the Farm City stores in Gauteng.

The purpose this year was to give Prodist customers exposure to the activities and product range of the company.  More than 60 displays and exhibitions in show format, filled with new ranges, lined the Prodist warehouse.

Special offers, bargain deals and big discounts were an important part of the day and customers were advised to bring their order books for this ‘one day only’ promotion.

Special emphasis was on training as well as sharing of knowledge and information between retailers and Prodist.  Retail owners were also encouraged to bring staff members to this informative event so that they could have a rare opportunity to meet those in the trade and to get a glimpse of the activities in the Prodist warehouse.

Prodist/LRB also made good use of this opportunity to showcase the latest joint programme developments from local and overseas suppliers.

In the end the show was an ideal opportunity for training and created valuable awareness of all the latest product developments in this industry for all who attended.
