For 27 years, Profile has been at the forefront of recognising excellence through its support of and supplying data and analysis for the South African and Offshore industry awards. These awards celebrate top-performing unit trusts and their fund managers who have achieved exceptional results across various sectors.
Since the launch of the Sage Fund, in 1965 the industry has grown exponentially. The number of unit trusts has since surged and today, South African rand investors have access to approximately 1 800 local and 500 offshore funds, demonstrating the industry’s expansive growth. In addition, distribution dynamics have radically changed to include merchandising via LISPs and other platforms.
Recognising the importance of adapting to this dynamic landscape, we have finalised the rules for Profile’s Annual Unit Trust Awards. The details can be seen here.
We are confident that these constitute the most appropriate set of rules given the current state of the Unit Trust industry in South Africa. However, any comment or criticism can be addressed to: [email protected].
Profile will apply these rules based on the status of funds and classes in our database as at mid November 2024.
We have added the TERs to the current Running of the Bulls overview, which is updated quarterly. When we update the overview with the end of September numbers, we will add a facility for anyone to check all the funds and classes, as they are in our database.
