Djazagro takes its name from “Djazair”, which means “Algeria” in Algerian Arabic, and “agro”, which represents the agri-food sector. The four-day show brings together 23,000 professionals and 650 exhibitors in eight sectors, including processing, filling and packaging. The event will take place from 22 to 25 April 2024 at the SAFEX Exhibition Centre in Algiers.

World-class aseptic packaging

At its booth B033, Sidel will be exhibiting its Predis Aseptic Combi, an integrated blow-fill-cap solution for PET bottles and equipped with the dry sterilisation of Predis preforms.

“With no conveying, handling of empty bottles, accumulation and storage, the Predis Aseptic Combi benefits from an optimised line layout with a reduced footprint, which improves production hygiene and yield while lowering costs,” comments Bassam Oussaifi, Vice President Sales Middle East & Africa at Sidel.

As a result, Sidel has successfully installed the first-ever aseptic line from Niche Cocoa Industry Ltd, Ghana’s largest fully integrated cocoa processor. As a result, the company was able to expand its portfolio to include PET dairy products and launch the country’s first and only locally produced chocolate milk with aseptic bottling.

The company opted for PET packaging because of its 100% recyclability, affordability, and light weighting opportunities. It also used Sidel’s Predis dry and aseptic technology, which uses hydrogen peroxide mist to sterilise the preforms before they enter the furnace stage of the manufacturing process.

Thanks to Sidel’s collaboration, the line has an efficiency of 99.6%, for the highest customer satisfaction.

Super Combi for high-speed water and soft drinks

Also on display at Djazagro, Sidel’s all-in-one Super Combi solution integrates five process steps into a single system: preform feeding, blowing, labelling, filling and cap feeding. Ideal for water and soft drink production, the solution uses equipment intelligence to continuously optimise production and improve performance.

Recently, Sidel installed its Super Combi for Mai Dubai, one of the leading bottled water companies in the United Arab Emirates. This solution is considered to be the fastest single line in the Middle East and North Africa region, with a filling rate of 86,000 bottles per hour in three different formats – 200 ml, 330 ml and 500 ml.

Range of advanced filling machines

Sidel will also be showcasing EvoFILL Glass and EvoFILL Can; Both technologies rely on an advanced filling solution under high-level hygienic conditions and offer greater flexibility to achieve optimal performance.

EvoFILL Can operates at a rate of more than 130,000 cans per hour without compromising the overall performance of the line. As for EvoFILL Glass, it is a relevant choice for beer and soft drink producers, as the solution can handle a wide range of cadences and has a fully automatic carousel that can adapt to unique bottle formats, at more than 80,000 bottles per hour.

Discover Sidel’s Evo-ON Suite

At the booth, visitors will also be able to experience Evo-ON, a unique cloud suite with built-in intelligence designed to optimise all aspects of the production line. Evo-ON intelligent applications transform untapped raw equipment data to fine-tune the production process and achieve optimal performance. With 24/7 data collection, aggregation, and analysis, the system offers real-time, proactive alerts, notifications, and reporting.
