Stanley Black & Decker has significantly expanded its corporate presence in South Africa. The company’s products are represented through four main brands, Stanley, Black+Decker, DeWalt, and Facom, however, there is a wide range of other brands that can be tapped into, depending on the needs of specific markets.
Combined, the brands make-up Stanley Black & Decker‘s tools, as well as storage and fastening, portfolios with the ability to service various industries including construction, retail tools, industrial tools, agriculture and other general industry.
Olivier is highly qualified to take Stanley Black & Decker to the next level and grow its South African operations exponentially with an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Stellenbosch. Previously he was the Managing Director for Sub Saharan Africa of United Technologies Fire (UTC Fire and Security), a multi-national company with headquarters in Paris. In this role he managed the commercial business, logistics, human resources, finance and general operations. Olivier was responsible for business development in the entire region on specification and an end-user level and vastly increased the channel footprint.
Prior to this he was the Commercial Manager of Sales and Marketing at Schneider Electric, based in Midrand, also a multi-national electrical and automation product manufacturer with headquarters in Paris. In addition, he has worked in marketing at Electrical Distribution Systems, as an engineer at Protek Network Management (Viziqor Systems), and in management in Independent Technology Systems and Telkom.
Francois Géradin has been appointed as Head African Business at Stanley Black & Decker. With a corporate mandate to provide a renewed focus on emerging markets, SBD is geared-up with plans for massive expansion into the rest of the continent.
