Vinyl floor coverings are sensitive to moisture, making it crucial to address high moisture vapour emission rates (MVER) or excessive moisture in the substrate prior to commencing the flooring installation. TAL recommends their easy-application, roller-applied water-based epoxy vapour barrier, TAL Vapourscreen WB, to significantly reduce the risk of floor covering debonding, ideal for substrates with moisture levels ≤4%.
Where moisture levels in the substrate are ≤6% , TAL VaporStop HB, a high-performance moisture-tolerant two-component epoxy moisture and vapour barrier system is recommended.
TAL Primercoat, a ready-mix one-component (1k) slurry, provides a mechanical key for TAL Screedmaster when applied over the cured TAL Vapourscreen WB and TAL VaporStop HB moisture and vapour barrier system.
TAL Screedmaster is a commercial-grade self-levelling and smoothing underlayment compound specially formulated to achieve the smooth and flat surface required for the installation of resilient floor coverings in high-traffic, commercial installations. With an application thickness range of 3-16mm in a single layer, TAL Screedmaster provides exceptional levelling capabilities, enabling you to create a flawless base for your sheet vinyl installations.
To complete the sheet vinyl application, TAL recommends TAL Profix Plus as the adhesive of choice. TAL Profix Plus is a water-based modified high-strength permanent acrylic adhesive specially designed for the installation of sheet vinyl floor coverings.
