TANDM will be hosting the fourth annual TANDM Community Connect (TCC24) event on 14 November 2024 in Pretoria and 21 November 2024 in Somerset West.
TCC24 isn’t just another conference; it’s a chance to network, share ideas, collaborate with others in the test and measurement community, and enhance skills. The event is accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) for 1 CPD point and is designed to equip attendees for the new year and beyond.
“TCC24 offers a valuable opportunity to explore new advancements and highlight local innovations with global relevance. Last year’s event saw a strong turnout, reflecting the growing interest in our industry, and this year aims to build on that with a diverse lineup of local and international thought leaders discussing the latest trends in engineering and test and measurement technologies,” said Elton Murison, TANDM Managing Director.
What to Expect:
This year’s programme includes insightful discussions and presentations focused on bridging the gap between academia and the private sector. Topics include:
- The Evolving Landscape of Test and Measurement
- Strain Gauges and Sensor Technology
- Measurements and Analysis in Engineering
- The International System of Units
- Mechanical Shock Testing of Laser Rangefinders
- Verification and Validation Testing in Space Engineering
- Combustion Frequency Measurements of the SAFFIRE Liquid Propellant Rocket
- Theory and Application of Structural Response Reconstruction in the Time Domain
- Investigation of Dynamic Wind Interaction with Transmission Conductors
Who Should Attend?
TCC24 is aimed at professionals in the test and measurement industry, engineers, business leaders, researchers and those simply curious about the fascinating world of test and measurement.
Murison views TCC as a crucial event that fosters continuous growth, innovation, and enhancement within the test and measurement industry. “We are uniquely positioned to unite diverse stakeholders creating a collaborative environment that benefits the entire field,” he emphasises.
Featured Speakers at TCC24
This year’s lineup features some of the brightest minds in the field, including:
International keynote by Malte Grieme, Director of Product Management Sensors at Hottinger Brüel & Kjær- a specialist in strain gauges and sensor technology
Local Experts:
Roelof Minnaar, a structural engineer and co-founder of Advanced Structural Mechanics, Ian Veldman, Research and Development Engineer at NMISA and Stephan Roux, a mechanical engineer at Hensoldt Optronics
Hano Steyn, Systems Engineer at Simera Sense, who will unpack the mechanical shock testing of a laser rangefinder while Nino Wunderlin, senior engineer at ASRI, speaking about the combustion frequency measurements of the SAFFIRE liquid propellant rocket engine.
“This is a must-attend event that will fuel innovation and propel growth within the sector. Participants at TCC24 can expect to leave with newfound knowledge, a sense of empowerment, and a spark of inspiration,” concludes Murison.
