The Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa (FPI) invites all its members who are CFP® professionals to enter its most prestigious annual award; the FPI Financial Planner of the Year.
The award is aimed at honouring the most proficient financial planner in the industry as a commitment by FPI to provide professional financial planning for all. The award recognises the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional for excelling in professionalism towards his/her clients.

The judging criteria, by an independent panel of industry experts, academics and FPI Board of Directors, is severe and examines the professional level, expertise and commitment financial planners provide to their client’s. It includes the following process:

· Round 1 – Submission of an entry form together with a portfolio of evidence: The portfolio of evidence should contain a detailed, holistic financial plan,

· Round 2 – Panel Site Visit: The entrants’ practice will be assessed on all aspects of compliance, practice management as well as all client documentation and financial planning processes and

· Round 3 – Panel Interview: The top three finalists will be required to present to a panel on a selected topic and are questioned on a variety of industry trends, topics, technical information and legislative changes.

The CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional with the highest overall score, after combining the scores from each round using the weighting for each round, will receive the title of 2016 FPI Financial Planner of the Year and named FPI’s brand ambassador.

The 2016 FPI Financial Planner of the Year winner and runners-up will be announced at FPI Professionals Convention Gala Dinner to be held at the Sandton Convention Centre on Tuesday, 14 June 2016. Entries for the competition must be submitted to FPI by close of business on Monday, 14 March 2016.
