Evonik opens increased silica production facilities in Japan

On 27 October, Evonik inaugurated its expanded facilities in Ako, Japan, where it will produce the Sipernat and Carplex lines of specialty silicas. The investment represents an increase of approximately 50 per cent in the company’s Japanese production capacity for specialty silicas, which it manufactures through DSL. Evonik will maintain its 51 percent share in DSL as part of the joint venture with Shionogi & Co.
