The SASFA Light Steel Frame Building course for LSF contractors will be presented
online via Zoom from 28 July to 3 August 2021.
Successful completion of the course will enable attendees to correctly erect a simple LSF structure and to plan and supervise the installation of cladding, lining, insulation and services.
Who should attend?
The course is aimed at new as well as practising builders, building contractors, and designers of light steel frame buildings. Attendees must at least have passed Grade 12, and be able to read building plans. We have even had architects, engineers and senior managers attend the course, to develop fundamental knowledge of the process.
Course content: the course covers all aspects of LSFB including:
- Steel frames: properties of steel, manufacturing of steel frames, setting out
and erection of floor joists, wall frames and trusses - Installation of external cladding, and
- Installation of internal lining, insulation and services.
The course will be presented in English by SASFA. The attendance fee covers a set of course notes, and a certificate of successful completion will be issued to qualifying candidates.
