Laboratories across the globe have partnered with Environmental Resource Associates (ERA), implementing their tools for important quality assurance programmes. ERA, a Waters company, is one of the most trusted providers of certified reference materials (CRMs) and proficiency testing (PT) products. ERA standards are used within more than 7 000 facilities in over 80 countries for environmental, food, industrial, life sciences, medical and pharmaceutical industries. Interestingly, ERA even provided water quality standards that were used on the International Space Station.
Laboratories need proficiency tests to highlight potential quality issues and a failed proficiency test indicates a problem with testing methodology, instruments, or an analyst’s performance. The trusted ERA standards and PT data tools include instruction and reporting manuals to assist with providing accurate and defensible data. ERA products simplify a laboratory’s quality control programme and improve analytical processes. All ERA standards are provided with certified values and acceptance limits, which are derived from over two million data points, allowing one to identify and assess the consistency and quality of results.
ERA has prepared thousands of unique custom standards for a range of situations, including calibrations, proficiency testing, matrix spikes, linearity, system suitability and quality control. ERA’S online data reporting tool,eDATA 2.0, allows one too easily and accurately report data, view preliminary results, track historical performance, and identify opportunities to improve procedures in the laboratory.
ERA offers an environmental product catalogue for easy reference and featuring indexes for products and analytes as well as a glossary of common acronyms. A proficiency testing schedule is included for each study type, for example, water pollution, water supply, soil, air and emissions, and radiochemistry. Additional analytes are available for volatiles in water pollution, volatiles in soil, and ready-to-use VOAs in soil.
