A significant day in the history of the top luxury residential estate in South Africa took place on Friday, 14 October 2016 when a Polo Village home owner, Magnus Heystek, was awarded a Ferrari California 30 Convertible worth R 4 million by the estate. The announcement was made at a glamourous event held the estate’s ballroom, where the first-of-its-kind draw took place.
Purchasers of Val de Vie’s Polo Village luxury apartments were automatically entered into the draw, which was audited by PwC South Africa. Due to the nature of the draw, entrants stood a 1 in 56 chance of winning the slick sports vehicle.
Comments Ryk Neethling, Marketing Director and Shareholder at Val de Vie Estate: “It was a really exciting moment waiting for the winner’s name to be read out. On behalf of Val de Vie, I’d like to congratulate Mr Heystek! We wish him many safe and enjoyable kilometres in this show-stopping car.”
Says Heystek, winner of the Ferrari and Polo Village home owner: “What a feeling! I am absolutely thrilled to be named the winner of the Ferrari! I’d like to thank Val de Vie and Ferrari for this amazing opportunity and for the privilege of receiving this stunning vehicle. I can’t wait to take it out on the road”.
Val de Vie’s Polo Village – designed by Stefan Antoni – was launched in 2014 in celebration of the finer things in life. While most homes on Val de Vie are primary residences, the lock-up-and-go Polo Village apartments cater perfectly to the jet-setters of the world – to those who live abroad or in other parts of South Africa and have a love for the Cape Winelands, for polo and the estate’s lifestyle. Sale prices started at R 1.6 million and the value of the units has already increased significantly.
The decision to give this particular car away stemmed from the fact that Ferrari and Val de Vie are both internationally recognised as leading products in their respective categories and are equally associated with excellence, elegance and luxury. The Polo Village has in fact become synonymous with sophistication.
Owing to Val de Vie’s ideal location, just 35 minutes from Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport, it offers its residents the best of both worlds – proximity to the city and nearness to nature in the Winelands. The estate’s ample size affords its residents space and privacy and a wealth of outdoor amenities from polo fields and the Pearl Valley Golf Course to 42 km of trails, amongst others.
Neethling concludes: “We’re an estate that offers great diversity and I can confidently say that we provide an incomparable lifestyle to our residents, whether they are travellers that frequently visit the estate, families, couples, expats or investors. This giveaway is just one example of how we have implemented our core value of remaining ground-breaking in all aspects: our vision, our offering, building practices, conservation efforts, security and lifestyle. While we love the relaxed atmosphere at Val de Vie, we also know how to enjoy the thrilling side of life, and I’m sure that Mr Heystek will agree.”
Val de Vie has earned a host of local and international awards – the latest of which includes being named South Africa’s top estate by New World Wealth and receiving the award for the Best Single Unit Residential Development in Africa (The Valentia Manor House) at the 2016 International Property Awards.
