Webinar explores opportunities in packaging in the new normal

Specialised Exhibitions collaborates with New Media on a highly successful Propak Cape packaging industry webinar.

Having been postponed from October 2020 to June 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Propak Cape will celebrate its 21st anniversary next year. Although disappointed that the 2020 Propak Cape exhibition had to be rescheduled, Specialised Exhibitions – in collaboration with its media partner, New Media – hosted a webinar on 21 October to celebrate all things packaging in the week that the 2020 Propak Cape expo would have taken place.

Approximately 300 guests attended the webinar entitled Opportunities in Packaging in the New Normal. If you missed the webinar, please click on the video link below to view the content on demand.

Exploring opportunities opening up within the packaging industry, the webinar was chaired by Gary Corin, managing director of Specialised Exhibitions. Corin was joined by three presenters, who each gave high-level discussions on issues pertinent to the packaging industry.

Industry experts share their views

Dikeledi Mosime, owner and CEO of Tinpac spoke about the challenges she’s faced as a woman in a male-dominated industry and how she has overcome them.

Kishan Singh, CEO of Metpac–SA and WPO ambassador discussed sustainability matters, saying that South African and international packaging producers are prepared to have the difficult conversations around sustainability.

Maryke Foulds, Editor of SA Food Review discussed trends in food packaging and production. She also explored developments in pharmaceutical and personal care packaging in line with the trends in these two industries.
