He has a special interest in ADHD both in children and adults as well as substance abuse disorders and OCD. His scope of practice however includes a wide spectrum of psychiatric disorders including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders and personality disorders. He has published in both ADHD in Focus and Medical Chronical. He has also acted as guest editor for ADHD in Focus. He was part of a small research group whose original article “Screening for Adult ADHD in Patients with Fibromyalgia Syndrome” was published in Pain Medicine by the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr Schüler has made appearances as guest speaker at the Neuro Science Days of the University of Pretoria and often acts as a facilitator in Continued Professional Development meetings.
