Dr Coovadia has a robust background in both internal medicine and allergology. He began his medical journey at the University of Cape Town, where he earned his MBChB degree. Driven by a passion for specialised care, Dr Coovadia pursued a Fellowship in Allergology at the University of Cape Town Lung Institute, followed by a Diploma in Allergology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa. In 2017, he completed a Master’s in Internal Medicine at Stellenbosch University, where his thesis was notably passed. His commitment to advancing his knowledge and skills led him to earn a Certificate in Gastroenterology from the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in 2019. Currently, Dr Coovadia serves as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in private practice at Mediclinic Panorama. He also holds a sessional consultancy position in the Division of Gastroenterology at Tygerberg Hospital and Stellenbosch University, where he continues to contribute to both patient care and academic excellence.
