Dr Elsa van Duuren

Dr Elsa van Duuren did her a BMedSci, MBChB and specialised as a rheumatologist at the University of Pretoria. She also completed her MSc (Sports Medicine).

Currently, she works in private practice as a rheumatologist at the Jacaranda Hospital, Pretoria. She is involved in various pharmaceutical trials in rheumatology. She is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching at the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University, University of Pretoria and in the private sector in both South Africa and abroad.

Dr Van Duuren is the immediate past president of the South African Rheumatism and Arthritis Association (SARAA) and the Chairman of the Arthritis Foundation of South Africa. She is a board member of the Faculty of Consulting Physicians of South Africa and served on the local organising committee for the World Congress of Internal Medicine that took place in Cape Town 2018.
