Dr Chevaan Hendrickse
Cardiologist
Dr Hendrickse is an interventional cardiologist specializing in catheter-based treatments for heart diseases. He graduated with Honours from the University of Cape Town's Faculty of Health Sciences and completed his community service at GF Jooste Emergency Hospital and Khayelitsha Site B, gaining experience in HIV and TB medicine.
From 2006 to 2008, he served as a Medical Officer in Radiation Oncology before transitioning to internal medicine and specializing in cardiology. After obtaining his Certificate of Cardiology in 2013, he entered private practice, focusing on complex, high-risk interventions, including rotablation, pacing, and cardiac resynchronisation therapy, as well as evolving interests in transcatheter valve interventions.
Currently practicing at Life Kingsbury Hospital, Dr Hendrickse actively seeks international training to enhance his skills. Outside of medicine, he enjoys paddle-skiing, surfing, fine art, and astronomy. His interventional techniques primarily utilise the radial artery approach, though he also employs the femoral artery route when necessary.
